Alceste Sissy Justice Powell, Class of 1974, and her husband, Glenn Powell, formerly from Fairmont, celebrated their 42^nd wedding anniversary.

Sissy wrote:

“42 years ago this day became a very important day in my life. I married my best friend. Not a day goes by that I don't thank the Lord for guiding us along our journey. Love you, Mr. Powell.”

Sissy lives in Augusta, Georgia and was a substitute high school teacher at LaPorte Independent School District in Texas for 12 years.

Sissy and Glenn’s children are Tabitha Powell of Augusta and Teena Powell Harris, deceased.

Sissy’s brother is Aaron Justice, Jr.

Sissy and Glenn attended the 2014 Monongah High Alumni Reunion, the 40^th anniversary of her Class of 1974.

Sissy and Glenn have lived in several states with Texas (20 years) their longest residency.

After Texas, Sissy writes:

“We wanted to get closer to family so my husband was hired as the Executive Director of EEOC for Augusta Medical Colleges of Georgia in 2010."

But Monongah and West Virginia remain in their hearts.

Sissy writes: 

"We are hoping to move back to West Virginia when we retire.”
