Vegas & the canyons

Paula and I spent a week in Las Vegas and the canyons of Bryce, Zion and Grand on  May 25-31.

Olivia Newton-John sang “Take Me Home, Country Roads” to me (well, and everyone else at the Flamingo Casino concert).

We saw Vegas the Show. A lot of skin – but that was the tourists.

Bryce Canyon looked as if tiny Sister Teresa of Sts. Peter and Paul School days had sculpted it. Zion and Grand were massive, but Bryce was more intriguing.

We hit 11 casinos and lost a combined total of $18. We’re what they call low-spenders at the slot machines.

We stayed at the LVH (Las Vegas Hotel), which is on the Monorail route. Each day we would take the Monorail to our favorite casino of the day and then walk from casino to casino. Maximum benefit for minimum effort.

Each day that we walked in or out of the LVH we passed Elvis’ last car (cream yellow Cadillac), parked inside the building. Elvis may have left the building, but his car didn't.
