Leatrice Yokay Greaser recovering
from 2 hospital stays

Leatrice Yokay Greaser, Class of 1950, is home after two stays in Fairmont hospitals to deal with an adverse reaction to antibiotics she was taking for her sinus infections.

Medical chemistry isn’t a perfect attidote for everything. Everything you pop into your mouth to solve one problem has the capability of causing another one. I have first-hand knowledge of that for the treatment of MY sinus infections, which is a regular problem for me.

Leatrice, known as The Kathryn Grayson of Monongah High in the 1950s for her singing ability, stays in contact with her former music teacher, Beatrice Mangino, who is 90 and still kicking in Lansing, Michigan. If you want to renew MHS memories with Beatrice, her phone number is (517) 485-0930.

Beatrice is the daughter of Phil Mangino, whose trucks delivered coal to Monongah homes and Monongah High athletes to sports events.

If you want to hear Leatrice’s still-melodious voice, her phone number is (304) 363-4858. After spending decades taking care of her ailing husband, Bob Greaser, and Leatrice’s and Bob’s mothers, Leatrice is dealing with all them being in the Great Beyond.

Leatrice also stays in touch with Nathaleen Cameon Oliverio, Class of 1948, who lives in East Chicago, Indiana, just across the Illinois from the city that has more dead people voting than any other metropolis in the USA.

Nathaleen’s brother, Albert Cameon, passed away April 7 of this year.

Bill Cameon, Class of 1960, is a brother of Virginia Cameon Mezzanotte, Class of 1953. Their parents were Maggie and Clyde Cameon.

Bill lives in Highland, Indiana, which is 30 miles from Chicago and Nathaleen. Bill and his wife have two children and three grandchildren. Bill works at All Systems Electric.

If you want to re-connect with Bill, his email address is camejon@sbcglobal.net

If you have memories of the Yokay, Cameon or Oliverio families, email John Olesky at jo4wvu@neo.rr.com and I’ll add your information in a Monongah High Alumni article.
