Frances Savereno Pulice, Class of
1948, passed away May 26. Her husband, Johnny Pulice, Sr., 1944 Farmington High
grad, preceded her in death.
So did brothers Tony Savereno, Class of 1941, and Orlando Savereno.
So did brothers Tony Savereno, Class of 1941, and Orlando Savereno.
Frances was busy at Monongah High –
cheerleader, Glee Club president, Black Diamond yearbook staff, Dance Club,
Junior Red Cross vice president, all with a dazzling smile.

— Frances Cecelia Pulice, 83, of Morgantown,
passed away unexpectedly Monday (May 26, 2014) at Mon General Hospital.
Frances was born Sept. 22, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Rosa (DiStefano) Savereno of Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Johnny L. Pulice Sr.; and her son, John Jr.
Frances graduated from Monongah High School in Marion County, was the salutatorian of her class and was a cheerleader. She was a longtime employee of Summit Hall Dormitory at West Virginia University. Frances was an active member of the Parish of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. In her retirement she enjoyed line dancing with the Senior Shufflers and spent many happy hours visiting friends at the Mon County Senior Center.
Frances and her husband, Johnny, loved to travel and visited many beautiful places, including Italy, Hawaii and Alaska. Frances was an excellent cook and especially loved to prepare big family dinners of pasta and meatballs on Sunday afternoons.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila and husband Dennis Gallon, and Teresa Eddy of Morgantown, Marcy and husband John Leon of Fairmont, and Francine and husband Jim Leinbach of Derwood, Maryland; 13 grandchildren, Elizabeth Gallon Howley and husband Tim Howley of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Nick and Emily Gallon of Morgantown, Johnny, Camille, Isabella and Joseph Leon of Fairmont, Teddy Leinbach of Baltimore, Maryland, Cecelia and James Leinbach of Derwood, Maryland, Antonio and Gregory Eddy of Morgantown, and Johnny L. Pulice, Illinois of Springfield, Virginia; and two great-grandchildren, Kaedon and Mary Clair Howley of Harrisonburg. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean DeCarlo and Mary Hewitt of Morgantown; her sisters-in-law, Helen Virginia Pulice, Mary Louise Champlin and Harriet Savereno; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Liberatore of Midland, Pennsylvania; and her brothers, Tony Savereno of Monongah and Orlando Savereno of Fairmont.
Friends will be received at the Parish of St. Francis de Sales from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. John V. DiBacco as celebrant, and concelebrants, the Very Rev. Father Mark Ward C.P., V.F., and the Rev. Colombo F. Bandiera. Entombment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508, or Senior Monongalians, 5000 Greenbag Road, Suite A5, Morgantown, WV 26508.
