Monongah pair tackle shoplifter

John Oliverio, Class of 1974, and Mark Sandy, North Marion Class of 1990, prevented shoplifting in Frostburg, Maryland while on the way home from a Combat Vets Motorcyle meeting.

Earlene Lovern, North Marion grad who moved from Baltimore to Monngah and is a former Monongah postal worker, explains:
One of your town workers was doing a good deed on his way home from a Combat Vets Motorcycle Association meeting on Saturday. While stopping in Frostburg, Maryland, Mark Sandy and John Oliverio stopped a shoplifter at a Sheetz gas station.
They tackled the man and held him down until the police arrived. Mark works for the town of Monongah. Both of these guys are members of the VFW post 629 and 1/201st veterans. SFC Oliverio is currently still serving and SFC Sandy is retired.”
Well done, guys!
