Joe Martin headed for lung surgery

Arlene Kitchin Martin, who lives on Treasure Island, Florida with husband Joe Martin, Class of 1959, reports:
“Joe will be going into Bayfront for lung surgery next Friday.”
Bayfront Medical Center is at 701 6th Street South in St. Petersburg, Florida, one of the easiest cities to find your way around when you have an address because you know immediately how far north and south or east and west your destination is.
I lived there in 1966-67 when I was in the sports department at the St. Petersburg Times owned and run by publisher legend and Indiana native Nelson Poynter.
Joe has been dealing with strokes he suffered early this year.

Joe, a professional photographer, and Arlene, an artist, are regulars at the gatherings of Monongah High Alumni at the Sarasota, Florida home of Bill Meredith, Class of 1957, and wife Roleta, a Clarksburg Washington Irving grad and WI get-togethers organizer.
She does for Washingtin Irving alumni what I do for Monongah High alumni, only much better.
