Monday surgery – maybe – for Helen Hess

The surgery for Worthington's Helen Hess has been postponed to Monday, or until the Morgantown hospital increases the thickness of her blood, to avoid excessive bleeding during surgery.

The report comes from Mike Hess, Class of 1975, Helen’s son, who has been her regular bedside companion.



Helen has infection around her Pacemaker, which will be removed and the infection, too, then the Pacemaker replanted.

I have a Pacemaker, which controls the number of heartbeats per minute. In my case, it dropped into the 40s before the Pacemaker was installed and set to not go below 60. If it’s too low, you get dizzy and that’s not good, particularly if you fall on something hard.



Mike is in a relationship with Parma Fetty. His daughters are Amy Marie Bell and Helen Hess. Mike’s other siblings are Robert Hess, Pam Hess Ice and Michelle Nichol Ice. 

Mike grew up on Helens Run and lives in Fairmont.
