David Hartley, Class of 1963, passed away Wednesday, January
5 in Circleville, Ohio.
He was a brother of Gerald Nelson Hartley, Class of 1955, who
lives in Orrville, Ohio and Delmas Hartley, Class of 1959, who lives in
Carolina.
The Hartley brothers grew up in Worthington. Their mother, Velma
Pitman Hartley, worked in Worthington’s Hertzog Drug Store run by Virgil
Hertzog, father of Marylee Hertzog Gwinn, Class of 1948, who lives in
Rockville, Maryland, and Dick Hertzog, Class of 1942, the late WVU chemical
engineering grad who once lived in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area.
Their father was Gilbert Hartley.
David’s obituary
David M. Hartley, 71, of Circleville
passed away on January 5, 2016. He was born on May 22, 1945 in West
Virginia to the late Gilbert and Velma (Pitman) Hartley.
David had owned Kingston Florist and
later worked for Rhoads in their floral department.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna (Deem)
Hartley, daughter; Tracy (Denny) Fowler, sons; Scott (Susion), Michael (Jeri)
Hartley, grandchildren; Heather (Paul) O’Leary, Hailee, Charley, Megan, Ayden
and Eastyn and by brothers Gerald and Delmas Hartley.
Funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Laurelville Church of God with
burial to follow in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call at the church
on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Wellman Funeral Home is handling the
arrangements.
