Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban. Both are champions.

Brother & class are synonyms

Brother is a class act, even in defeat. After the loss to Clemson for the national title … well, I’ll let the newspaper article tell the story:

You can just tell the admiration Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney have for one another.

But Monday night, the weathered veteran, Saban, lost to the up-and-comer and new kid on the block, Swinney, 35-31.

Leading up to the big game, Saban and Swinney appeared in press conferences together and TV interviews together. Perhaps they aren’t great friends, but they’re pretty good buddies. Swinney even has the ability to make Saban smile and laugh, an accomplishment in its own right.

Following Clemson’s 35-31 victory over Alabama, the playing field became chaotic, with confetti raining down and people everywhere. It would have been easy for Saban to just give Swinney a call after the game or find him somewhere in the locker room and not fight the crowd, but instead, Saban sought out Swinney on the field after the game.

Of course many coaches would do this very thing, but it’s still awesome to see the admiration and respect these two have for each other. And AL.com  was there to capture the cool moment.
