Fred Moorehead passes away

Fred Moorehead, Class of 1964, passed away Wednesday, January 27.

He lived in Carolina with wife Linda Savereno Moorehead, Class of 1968.



Fred was a Fairmont State graduate from Helens Run, West Virginia.

His survivors include his sister, Donna Davis, active in the Monongah High Alumni Association.

Frederick Ronald Moorehead passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Monongalia General Hospital.

He was born September 8, 1946 in Idamay, he was the son of Norma Croaston Moorehead and the late Frederick F. "Bud" Moorehead.

 Growing up on Hellen's Run, he attended Thoburn Elementary and Monongah High School in 1964. He retired from Robinson Run Mine in 2003.

He was a long-standing member of the Carolina United Methodist Church serving many years as treasurer and trustee. He was always ready to help his church, family and friends and was often called upon to fix something which he could always do. He enjoyed his motorcycles, attending Fairmont Fitness Center, and his pets, Gabby and Annie.

In addition to his Mother he is survived by his wife of 44 years Linda Savereno Moorehead, a daughter Erin Garrison and her husband Jeff of East Run, and a son F. Brice Moorehead and wife Julie of Carolina. He enjoyed his grand children Kara and Walker Garrison, and Elise Moorehead. Also surviving are his sisters and spouses Donna and Bill Davis of Monongah, Linda K. and Rick Pruitte of Whitehall, and brothers-in-law and spouses Mark and Cathy Savereno of State College, PA and T.J. and Lynette Savereno of Timmonsville, SC. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont, Saturday January 30, from 2 until 8 pm. Interment will be at a later date. There are three Linda Mooreheads among Monongah High alumni. Linda Moorehead Saurborn, Class of 1968; and Linda Moorehead Larry, also Class of 1968.

Linda Saverino Moorehead's siblings are Anthony “T.J.” Saverino, Class of 1979, and Mark Saverino, Class of 70.
