Chiefton native Lucy Urso passes away

Chiefton native Lucy Urso passed away Wednesday, January 20.

She was predeceased by brother-in-law James A. DeMary and survivedby nephew Jimmy DeMary of Fairmont and her sister, Rose DeMary of Fairmont.

There are so many DeMarys that I’m not sure which Jim DeMarys these are.

One Jimmy DeMary I know was a son of Anthony and Lucy DeMary and the brother of Ann DeMary Eates, married to Joe Eates, and Anthony “Plumber” DeMary, Jr. Ann and Joe live at the bottom of Bridge Street hill. Jimmy and Plumber are deceased.

Lucy M. Urso, 88, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at home with her family at her side.
She was born in Chiefton, WV, on September 2, 1927, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Teacoach) Urso.
Lucy graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1945.She retired from Owens-Illinois in 1976 and also worked at Ad Thomas Dental lab as a secretary. Lucy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She is survived by her brothers, Frank Urso and his wife Mary of Fairmont, and Joe Urso and his wife Gloria of Bradenton, Florida; one sister, Rose DeMary of Fairmont; nephews John A. Urso, and wife, Mary, of South Carolina, Jimmy DeMary of Fairmont; and nieces Joan DeMary Arasteh of Texas, Sally Morgan and her husband Rick of Pleasant Valley; and several grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was also preceded in death by her brother, John H. Urso and one brother-in-law James A. DeMary.
