Truck puts bicyle racer in hospital

Anders Tesgaard, pedaling his bicyle with Race Across America, is in critical condition in Doddridge County after being struck by a pickup truck along Route 50 near Morgan's Run Road in Doddridge County Wednesday night.

Race Across America is a 3,000-mile bicycle race that brings in $2.5 million a year to charities. Tesgaard got in 2,550 miles before being hit. He rode for 7 days, 22 hours before being struck on his leg from Athens, Ohio to West Union, West Virginia.
