1962 Monongah High band

Converting the 1962 Monongah High Black Diamond yearbook from the print version to the 26th online MHS alumni still is a work in progress, but I thought you might like to see this photo of the famous Monongah High band, annually one of the best in West Virginia till the school closed after the 1979 class graduated.

Among those in the photo are:

Helen McDougal Mudry, who lives on Swisher Hill where she grew up with Reva McDougal Ash, Class of 1950, a widow living in Marietta, Ohio; Earl McDougal and Jimmy McDougal, who live in North Carolina; and the late Edna Mae McDougal.

Marlene Mick. Bob Mick is in the Class of 1962.

Danny DeNoon, who was in this blog recently for joining former Town Councilman Sandford Carr and Rick Sypult to clean up a property on Camden Avenue (U.S. 19). Larry DeNoon also is in the band photo.

Irene Vozniak Stroud, Class of 1964, who favorite teachers were

Miss Turkovich, Miss Brumage and Margaret Howes.

I’m sure you’ll recognize others who are still in your memory bank. If you have recollections you’d like to share, or information about where they are and what they are doing today, email John Olesky at jo4wvu@neo.rr.com We’ll in this together, so I need your participation. Spectators are welcome, but participants make this a more informative blog.
