Rosie Martin Reger passes away

Rosie Martin Reger, sister of Monongah High alumni Judy Martin Evans and Charles Martin, passed away Sunday, February 5.

Judy was Class of 1978. Charles was Class of 1960. There was a Robert Reger in the Class of 1960, too.

Rosie’s obituary:

Rosie Mae Reger, age 64 of Fairmont, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at her residence.

She was born May 20, 1952, in Rachel, WV, the daughter of the late Joseph Albert Martin and Lola Virginia Evealynn Eddy Martin.

She is also preceded in death by her husband Darius William Reger and a long life companion Donald Richmond.

Rosie was a homemaker. She loved cooking and baking and going to family cookouts. She loved her family and her dogs. She also loved going to church. She attended Friendship Baptist in Taylor County.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Hershel Bradley Reger and Christene Reger of Thornton, WV; 2 grandchildren, Richard Nelson Reger and wife Monique of Thornton, WV and Jody George and husband Johnny of Morgantown; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jack Eddy and wife Mary of Fairview and Charles Martin and wife Shirley of Kansas City, MO; 4 sisters, Judy Martin of Monongah, Dianna Martin of Fairmont, Elsie Pettit of Fairmont and Bertha Starns and husband Ross of Morgantown; an adopted sister, Duretta Jean Stewart and husband Randy of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by two brothers, Argel Martin and William Ray Martin; one sister, Barbra Jean Martin; a step-father, Patsy Martin; one nephew, Douglas McKenzie Jr.; a great-niece, Alexis Martin and a great-nephew, Bruce Hayes, Jr.; and an aunt and uncle, Goldie and Bruce Hayes.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, Mannington, WV on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 between 3-8pm and also on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 9-11am with funeral services beginning at 11 with Pastor Thomas Michael Graham officiating.
