Florida Lions reunion March 3 in Sarasota

West Virginia Reunion March 26 in The Villages, Florida

The annual Monongah High Alumni Reunion in Sarasota, Florida will happen on Friday, March 3 at the home of Bill Meredith, Class of 1957, and wife Roleta Meredith, who organizes Clarksburg and Washington Irving reunions.

Bill and Roleta live at 3201 Charles MacDonald Drive in Sarasota and will host this event, which has been going on for more than a decade, in their home.

Bill’s email:

Hello From Sarasota:

I recently heard from Bob and Barbara Arnett and they are planning on being on the west coast of Florida in early March.  I have picked Friday, March 3 as the day of our MHS Luncheon.  Since we want to talk more than anything else, Roleta and I will host it at our home in Sarasota.  That way, we can mingle and will be able to stay as long as we want, without having to worry about the restaurant needing us to vacate our table.

We hope to have a covered dish lunch and will discuss the details when the date is set.  Please let me know ASAP if you can make it on that date.  Hopefully, we will have 10-15 people attend.  For those of you who were in my class (1957), just a reminder that we will be celebrating our 60th reunion at the MHS Alumni Dinner/Dance in May in Fairmaont.

I look forward to hearing from each of you soon.

Bill & Roleta Meredith

P S ---   If you know of anyone from Monongah, who might be able to attend. please invite them yourself or let me know their contact information and I'll try to reach them.

If you want to laugh with Monongah High alumni for much of the day, call Bill at (941) 342-0030 (home) or (614) 582-0335 (cellphone) so Roleta will know how many to whip up her delicious concoctions for.

Those who attended previous MHS reunions in Florida, in Sarasota or Punta Gorda, include the Arnetts, the Merediths, Lyla & Len Howell, Joe & Arlene Martin, Sandy & Bob Cook, Lloyd Schell, Paula Tucker and John Olesky.

If you’re in Florida in March, you also might want to attend the annual West Virginia Union. This year it will begin at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at the Savannah Center, 1545 North Buena Vista Blvd, The Villages, Florida.

Pat Meredith, Class of 1950, and her husband, Fairmont West graduate Don Wills, who lives on Crescent Beach just south of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, usually show up for that one. At other times, they live in Florida.

So has the former Karen Pflock, a Monongah High graduate and sister of Toni Pflock Hennis.
