Martha Jane Huff Martin, passed Away Saturday, July 30.
Sam’s name is on the Mountaineer
Field wall for all to see during every WVU game.
He played for the Mountaineers
1952-55 after performing for Farmington High against Monongah High and other
Mason-Dixon schools.

Martha Jane Huff Martin,
87, a resident of the Woodlands Assisted Living Center in Hutchinson, and
formerly of No. 9, Farmington, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 following an
extended illness. She was born October 20, 1928 in Enterprise, a daughter of
the late Oral Elzie and Catherine Hartzell Huff.
Martha was formerly employed at the Drapery Factory in Mannington and was a homemaker. She loved quilting, camping, fishing, ceramics and genealogy. Family was the priority of her life and she enjoyed her family gatherings. She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother.
Survivors include 2 sons: Thomas Wayne (Stanis) Martin, Rivesville, Timothy Lane (Lisa) Martin, Cullhowee, NC; 4 grandchildren: Heather Elane Shoulders, Erin Farye Wood, Lane Alexander Martin, Todd Hudson Martin; 4 great grandchildren: Alexis Faye Shoulders, Austin Hunter Wood, Hunter Wilson Wood, and Steven Thomas Shoulders; 2 brothers: Robert Lee “Sam” Huff, of Virginia, and John Leonard Huff of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Martin; a sister: Mildred “Mickey” Maxwell; and 2 brothers: Donald Gene “Buck” Huff and Oral David “Jody” Huff.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington. Condolences may be accessed at www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com .
