Ruth DeMary’s lifelong friend passes

The life-long friend Ruth DeMary mentioned in Sallie Hite’s obituary is the sister-in-law of the late Leo DeMary, of the famous DeMary’s Market grocery store in Rivesville. 

Twin Fred DeMary, 90, still is alive. So is brother John DeMary. 

Four brothers once operated DeMary’s Market, just as you drive over the railroad tracks onto Paw Paw Road off U.S. 19 and the West Fork River.

Sallie's obituary:

Sallie Beatrice Hite, 85, of Fairmont died Monday afternoon at Beulahland Assisted Living in Grafton. She was born in Preston County on July 13, 1929 daughter of the late Peter Y. and Edna Keppler Hite.

Sallie retired from Alleghany Power as a secretary, she was a member of the former Faith United Methodist Church and attended Fairmont State College.

She is survived by her lifetime friend Ruth DeMary of Rivesville and friend Jim Smiley of Fairmont.

Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue Fairmont on Wednesday from 4-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 31, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Buckland officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
