Pie & baby contests, 5K run, yard sale, car show
Monongahfest events Aug. 16 include a
pie baking contest.
Pie entries must be at the Town Hall
by 8 a.m.
The judging will begin at 11:30 a.m.
The public will vote on the pies from
8-11 a.m.
Each vote costs $1 and entitles you to a piece of pie AFTER the judges
make their final decisions.
The contest is sponsored by the Holy
Spirit Church Ladies Society.
Entry fee for the Monongahfest Photogenic Baby Contest is
$10. Categories are 0-6 Months, 7-12 Months, 13-24 Months, 25-36 Months and
37-48 Months. Photos must be submitted by Aug. 6.
Winners are announced the day of the festival following
the parade. All entrants may participate in the parade by lining up at 11 a.m. at
the basketball court at Monongah Elementary School. Questions? Mike Prunty at

Register for the 5K Run the morning of the Monongahfest
Aug. 16th at www.iplayoutside.com
Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.
and the race on the Rails to Trails will start at 8 a.m.
The Little Miss Monongahfest Pageant also will be Aug. 16,
starting at noon. Miss West Virginia will crown the winner.
Entrants must be 5-12 years old and participate in the
Monongahfest parade at noon.
The weekend festivities will start Friday, Aug. 15,
with Monongah’s Town-Wide Yard Sale from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be a country breakfast Saturday, Aug. 16 by 3
Crosses Ministries at the Town Hall from 7-10 a.m.
Other activities include a pinball tournament, rock climbing,
a dunking machine, a cornhole tournament, a duck race on the river, and games
for kids.
Monongah’s Reading Room will be available at the PACE building.
Fireworks at 10 p.m provide the finale.
The annual Car Show will be Sunday, Aug. 17, with
registration starting at 10 a.m. and the show beginning at noon.
