Ms. West Virginia to lead
Monongahfest parade
Ms. West Virginia United States Kristin
Wilson of Mannington will lead the Monongahfest parade Aug. 16. She also will
crown Little Miss Monongahfest.

Kristin represented West Virginia in
the Miss United States Pageant that crowned North Carolina’s Elizabeth Safrit the new
queen. Ms. Safrit will represent the USA at the Miss World Pageant in
London in December.
Kristin was crowned the West Virginia
winner May 25.
Applications for the Little Miss Monongahfest and Baby Photogenic Contest may be picked up in the Monongah Water Office from 8-4 Monday through Friday.
Monongahfest also has a new event: A pinball tournament in the Fire Department meeting room.
A tug-of-war contest also is being planned.
Each team will consist of 10 people. The entry
fee per team is $100/$10 per person.
It will be at the point down by the river on the day of the festival. The $$$ payout will depend on how many sign up.
The Town-Wide Yard Sale will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 in the parking lot under the big tent. Facebook message Patty or Diane Huffman Prunty.

The 3rd annual Monongahfest Car Show will be Sunday,
Aug. 17. Pre-register your car by sending an email with car information to gpatrick52@yahoo.com Include your car’s MAKE, MODEL and
MODIFICATIONS (if any) and your name address and contact info.

3 Crosses Ministries will have a Country Breakfast from 7-10 am. Aug. 16.
