Rose Sue Larry Burket, Class of 1947,
passed away Saturday, August 18 in Akron, Ohio.
Rose was the widow of John Burket.
Her parents were Sam Larry and Mary
Josephine Oliverio Larry.
She was predeceased by her siblings
Benny Anthony Larry, Mary Larry Eates (who married Dominick Eates, Class of
1946), Constance Ruthie Crespo, Tony “Zip” Larry, Class of 1955, Josie P. Larry
and Sam Larry, Jr.
Rose was in the Glee Club at Monongah
High.

Rose Sue Burket (nee Larry), age 89, died peacefully surrounded by family
and friends on August 18, 2018.
Rose was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on August 12, 1929. She moved to Akron, Ohio after joining in the covenant of Holy Matrimony to John Joseph Burket on September 4, 1954 in West Virginia. Rose loved feeding her family and friends with her amazing cooking. Guests never left her home hungry.

Rose served in various ministries as a founding member of Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church in Springfield Township. Rose was a devoted disciple of the Roman Catholic Faith and evangelized and spread the Good News of Jesus through many charities and Catholic organizations. Her favorite was EWTN with Mother Angelica, Fr. Joseph and especially Fr. Anthony.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John; parents, Sam and Mary Josephine (Oliverio) Larry; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Benny Anthony and Billy Jean Larry; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. Dominick and Mary (Larry) Eates; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. Lawrence and Constance (Ruthie) Crespo; brother, Mr. Tony (Zip) Larry; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Josie P. and Doris Larry; and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Sam and Sandra Larry, Jr. Rose is survived by daughters, Jo Marie (John) Sweeney of Houston, Tex., Debbie (Charles) Kester of Akron, Valerie (Bob) Hebert of Houston, Tex.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Donnie) Tenney, Michael Kester, Michael Nicoletti, Tara (Jacob) Johnson, Bobby (Stephanie) Hebert, Jr., Abby (Ryan) Knafel, Dana Kester and Jordan Kester; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Elijah, Levi, Josiah, Olivia, and soon to be born, Karl; sister-in-law, Shirley Larry; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where a Vigil Service will be held on Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 21, 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Road (at Killian Road), Akron, Ohio 44312, with Father David Halaiko and Father Zachary Kawalec co-presiding. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be a viewing opportunity at the Church during the hour before the Funeral Mass. The family suggests memorials to Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church.
