Faye’s
obituary:
Juanita Faye Nagel, 85, of Roanoke, Virginia, went home
to her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 10, 2018, fulfilling the promise of
the Lord.
Faye was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on March 26, 1933,
the second child of Virgie and Tommie Reid. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by a sister, Betty; a brother, Billy; and a nephew, Tommy
Dilldine.
Survivors are the love of life, husband Ted Nagel, to
whom she was married for 61 years; two sons, Timothy Paul and wife, Patricia,
of Roanoke, and Jeffrey Mark and wife, Lee Ann, of Richmond; grandsons
Christopher Paul, currently serving in the United States Army, and Eric Reid
Nagel of Breckenridge County; great-grandson, Jayden, of Newport News,
Virginia; sister-in-law, Jean Viglianco and daughter, Jeanie Marie Dotson of
Fairmont, West Virginia; and may cousins in Mississippi.
Faye being a military wife enjoyed their many moves with
Ted all over the United States and one particular three-year assignment in the
South Pacific island of Guam.
She made friends easily and still communicated with
friends all over the country. Faye made it a point to be a member of the many
churches where she lived. Her last church was Preston Oaks Baptist since 1981
where she taught Sunday School (Harmony class) for 14 years.
She also worked many years as a den mother and a den
mother coach in Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting. Faye loved children and watched
them at home for several years.
Her request is not to be mourned for, as her life has
been fun and filled with joy. The next step will be better and, for those who
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, her message is: I’ll see you later.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday,
August 14, 2018, in Oakley’s North Chapel with Pastor Randy Martin officiating.
Visitation will be held on your prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Preston Oaks
Baptist Church in her memory. Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com .
