Shirley Koval Dodd passes away
Shirley Koval Dodd,
Class of 1953, passed away Wednesday, April 1 in her Idamay home.
Her brothers are
John Koval, Class of 1956, who lives in Cincinnati, and Larry Koval, Class of
1968, who lives in Columbus.
Through her mother,
Anna Dudiak Koval, Shirley was a cousin Rosemary Raymond Pagliaro of Fairmont
and the late Bob Raymond of Fairmont, whose mother was Mary Dudiak Raymond,
wife of Angela Raymond.
And her aunt,
Sophie Dudiak Shelosky of Monongah, married to George Shelosky, both deceased.
Shirley played in
the Monongah High band, which annually won state awards for its excellence.
When I was a
teenager, I had a scrapbook that listed the girls I found most attractive.
Shirley was high on that list.
RIP, Shirley.
If you have
memories of the Koval or Dudiak families, email John Olesky at jo4wvu@neo.rr.com
and I’ll add them to the Monongah High Alumni blog.
