Noah Samuels passes away; 5 siblings also MHS grads

Noah Samuels, Class of 1968, passed away Saturday, April 11 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He lived in Clarksburg. He was a Consol coal miner.

His mother, Pauline McIntyre Samuels, lives in Monongah. His father, Noah Samuels, Sr., is deceased.

Surviving are sisters Brenda Samuels Pollard, Class of 1961; Janie Samuels Mitchell, Class of 1964; Linda Samuels Taylor, Class of 1967; and Jacqueline Samuels Chaney, Class of 1970.

Their brother, Earl Samuels, Class of 1969, is deceased.

Janie lives in Monongah. Her sisters live in Akron, Ohio. Brenda is retired from Alcoa (Aluminum Company of America). Linda worked at Chrysler. I couldn’t find anything on Jackie.

Noah Samuels, Jr. 65 of Clarksburg, WV passed away Saturday April 11, 2015 at The United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born June 4, 1949 in Fairmont, WV, son of Pauline (McIntyre) Samuels of Monongah and the late Noah Samuels, Sr.

Noah was a former Coal Miner for Consol Coal Company, and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sisters, Janie Mitchell and husband Paul of Monongah, WV, Jackie Chaney, Brenda Pollard, and Linda Taylor, all of Akron, OH; his companion, Kelly Hilson of Clarksburg, WV; a special nephew, Michael Mitchell of Monongah, WV; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Samuels.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Osman and staff at The United Hospital Center for the exceptional care given to Noah.


Family and friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 11 to Noon Saturday April 18, with the funeral service at Noon. The service will be held in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Paul Mitchell of Welcome Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
