Eva Geraldine Fullen Ross

Eva Geraldine Fullen Ross, Class of 1950, lives at 112 Ward Street, Harbor Beach, Michigan with former Detroit firefighter Don Ross.

They met when both were in the Air Force. “I had to go from Monongah (actually, Carolina) to Baltimore to Texas to meet the man of my dreams and move to Michigan,” Geraldine said.

They live on Lake Huron and have lived on Harbor Beach for 46 of their 62 married years. They have a son, a daughter, three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Geraldine – as we called her at Monongah High; I didn’t know her first name was Eva till I started Googling this week to look for her phone number – hasn’t been to West Virginia since 1984, after both her parents had passed away.

There have been a lot of Fullens roaming the halls of Monongah High. From 1945 through 1968, only 1955 did not have a Fullen in Lions Country.

Eva/Geraldine; Shirley Fullen Bartosh, Class of 1954; Delbert Fullen, Class of 1960; Jean Fullen Huffman, Class of 1962; and Bernard Fullen are second cousins of Monongah High de facto historian Ramona Fullen Michalski, Class of 1949, widow of Frank Michalski, who started with the Class of 1950.

Ramona’s first cousins are Ruth McDonald, Class of 1959; Charles “Chick” McDonald (deceased), Class of 1960; Danny Fullen, Class of 1961; Jimmy Fullen, Class of 1962; frequent Ramona visitor Loretta McDonald Larimore, Class of 1962; Janice Fullen Mayfield (deceased), Class of 1964;  George Fullen (deceased), Class of 1965; Kathy McDonald Thompson, Class of 1965; Connie Fullen Cantrell, Class of 1966; and Charlotte Fullen Lloyd, Class of 1968.

Danny Fullen has been married to social worker Ina Kincaid Fullen, Class of 1962, for 53 years. They live in Farmington.

Shirley Fullen Bartosh’s father was the half-brother of Ramona’s grandfather.
