Surgery postponed for Phil Colanero’s fiancé

Betty Hanlin, fiancé of Phil Colanero, Class of 1963, had her open-heart surgery postponed at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Shadyside Hospital.

The latest tentative dates are Friday or Monday.

The surgery will be to install a mechanical aortic valve and one by-pass.

Betty previously had a kidney replacement.

Phil’s father was on the unbeaten 1940 Marion County Champions Monongah High football team.

Phil has 11 grandchildren; Betty has 4 grandchildren.
