Barbara McIntire Henderson, Class of 1978, passed away Tuesday, April 11.

Her brother, Richard McIntire, is Class of 1976.

Her sister, Sandy McIntire, Class of 1979 (the last graduation class at Monongah High), lives in Gainesville, Virginia.

Barbara’s father, Hartis Gene McIntire, and Dorman Keith “Legs” Beckner, Class of 1942,  were life-long friends who took the Honor Flight together to Washington, D.C. in 2014.

“Legs” and Gene, both veterans of the Korea War, attended Monongah Baptist Church together. They made the Honor Flight together from Clarksburg’s Benedum Airport.

 “Legs” passed away a year ago April 13 at the age of 93.

Barbara was predeceased by her father-in-law, Glen Henderson, who passed away in 2015.
Glen and Martha Henderson’s children are Barbara’s husband, Thomas Bruce Henderson, Johnny Glenn Henderson of Fairmont, Sharon Ann Husty and husband Joe of Fairmont, Charlotte Jean Layman and husband Curtis of Richmond, TX, Marsha Kim Hudkins and husband Scott of Fairmont, Kathy Denise Henderson of Fairmont, Glenna Ann Henderson of Hutchinson, and Dee Ella Wallace of Ohio.

Barb and Dietta Harden Goush were good friends for years. They went to the same church and worked in the Head Start program together.
Harry McIntire lives on Harter Hill with wife Sharon Campbell.

Barbara Marie Henderson, 57, of Bingamon passed away April 11, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 18, 1959 in Fairmont, daughter of Hartis Gene and Shelby Mayfield McIntire of Bingamon.

Barbara was a retired secretary from Marion County Head start and was a member of the Monongah Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is survived by her husband, Thomas Henderson of Worthington;  one daughter, Loran Lowdermilk and husband Christopher of Bingamon;  two grandchildren, Eden and Owen Lowdermilk; two brothers, Richard McIntire and wife Judy of Bingamon, Steve McIntire and wife Lela also of Bingamon; one sister, Sandy McIntire of Virginia; mother-in-law, Martha Henderson of Fairmont; a niece, Jessica Rollins and a nephew Cody McIntire; two great nieces, Maddisyn and Jacey and one great nephew, Devin.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Glen Henderson.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont, Thursday 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Friday in the funeral home with Pastor David Hudkins officiating. Interment will follow at Parrish cemetery in Teverbaugh.
