IF YOU WAIT MUCH LONGER IT WILL BE TOO LATE

What are you waiting for?

Be there or be square!

Here are some of the name tags for the 6-9 p.m. Saturday, July 17 J&J&Lions Get-Together in the Monongah Town Hall for family, friends, Monongah High alumni, Monongah residents, including Mayor Johnboy Palmer who will draw the winning raffle ticket for the Alabama football autographed by Nick Saban, Class of 1969, the #1 college coach in American history, and his wife, Terry Constable Saban.

Not in the photo because I’m still hand-working the name tags, which have taken me days and days and hours and hours because I’m skilled in such a task like Susan Sanders is Monongah firefighter Jim Birdsell, whose Reservation came in after I put together these name tags (don’t worry, Jim, you’re have a name tag).

If you want your name attached to one of these metallic suckers that clack together like mad lovers then you have some time left to call co-host Jackie Olesky Straight, who lives in Rivesville, at (304) 278-7157. Jackie will give you directions to her house. She has Reservation forms that you will fill out at Jackie’s house and give her $20 per person (CASH ONLY    at this late date) with your entrée preference from Say-Boy, which will be catering the yummy event.

The Town Hall holds 300 so there’s plenty of room left for you. But if you too long, then you’ll just read about the nostalgia, laughter, dancing, food and music that you missed on this blog. With photos of people having fun that you’ll miss if you don’t call Jackie within days to become part of the post-pandemic fun crowd.

I look forward to seeing you and dozens of other friends and neighbors from my blessed childhood in Monongah on Walnut, Thomas and Church Streets. Mom and dad keep moving me and Jackie from house to house as their financial situation improved from the Great Depression which, I can tell you first-hand, was not so great.
