Susan Sanders, Class of 1971, an administrative assistant at Personnel, who led the drive to have 16 Christmas street lights installed in Monongah, took her Friends of Monongah Christmas Light Fund Association out to pizza to celebrate the accomplishment.

Susan, the angel of Thomas Street, wrote:

“Took the Angels and Elf out for pizza today to thank them for their hard work with the Christmas lights. Had a great time. Love them all.”

You have to power up the Charge of the Lights Brigade, you know.

From left in the photo: Shellie Yankie, Linda McCullough, Kitty Morrison, Andrea Desares King, Josh Scritchfield, Mareca Savonarola and Susan Staron Sanders.

Mareca isn’t even a Monongah High grad. She’s a Fairmont East grad but caught the fever from Susan after Mareca moved to Monongah.

Nurse Andrea is a Fairmont West grad who got swept up in Susan’s enthusiasm after moving to Monongah.

Mary “Kitty” Ahouse Morrison, Class of 1968, lives on Lyndon Avenue in Monongah when she isn’t traveling around the country and beyond.

Josh is a North Marion grad who lives in Monongah His mom makes an excellent sauce.
