Fire struck the Hutchinson Drive residence of Mark Glover, Class of 1979, in Worthington around midnight Monday/Tuesday. The house is a total loss.

Jason Jones was transported to Fairmont Regional Medical Center, but it was unrelated to the fire.

Wayne Minnear, who attended Monongah High with the Class of 1976, explains:

“Hi, John

“I am a friend of Mark Glover to let you know Mark wasn't hurt in the house fire and wasn't taken to the hospital. I was out there that nite. He is OK.

“A guy was taken to the hospital. He lived 3 houses out from Mark’s house. He went into seizures the night of the house fire."
Mark’s sister, Kim Glover Ice, Class of 1975, who also attended Shinnston High, is a Licensed Practical Nurse married to Tom Ice.

Along with Kevin Byrd, Mark and Kim are the children of the late Helen Starcher Byrd, Class of 1955, whose brothers were the late Nelson Starcher, Class of 1960, and Jim Starcher.
Worthington, Monongah, Farmington, Mannington and Shinnston Volunteer Fire Departments responded along with the Marion County Rescue Squad.
