Margaret Salabor passes away

Monongah’s Margaret “Maggie” Salabor, widow of Ed Salabor, Sr., passed away Tuesday, October 25.

Although born in Rivesville, she was a long-time member of Monongah’s Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Her children are Ed Salabor, Jr., and Barbara Salabor Davidson.

Maggie for years helped Amelia Shenasky Zentz, daughter of the late Pete and Nell Shenasky of Shenasky Grocery fame in Monongah. Now Amelia gets assistance from Kacie Cunningham and Casey's husband, who cuts Amelia's grass.

Margaret “Maggie” Salabor, 90, of Monongah passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence. She was born on October 22, 1926, in Rivesville. She was the daughter of Sylvester and Agnes McNunis.

She was a long-time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and working crossword puzzles. Maggie had one of the most generous spirits and would help anyone, family or friend. 

She is survived by her children Barbara Davidson and her husband Rob; her son Edward Salabor, Jr. and his wife Valarie; and her nine grandchildren: Zachary Paul Kyer, Nicholas Paul Kyer, Nathan Paul Kyer, Lisa Paulette Kyer, David Paul Kyer, Sarah Graham, Steven Salabor, Christopher Salabor, and Anthony Salabor.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Edward Salabor, Sr.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or services. A private graveside service will be held at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery in Shinnston.

Arrangements are under the care of the Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue Fairmont.
