Worthington’s Rex Minnear passes away

Rex Thomas Minnear, 70, of Worthington, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 4, 1946, in Hutchinson, a son of the late William Columbus and Lauda Lucille Harris Minnear.

Rex was employed by O.C. Cluss as a lumber yard worker. He was formerly the district manager of the Times WV and also a carrier. He enjoyed fishing, sports on TV, especially Pirates, and also westerns, and working on cars. He attended the former Bingamon Junction Church.

Survivors include his wife Sally Ann Minnear whom he married on September 20, 1969; two daughters: Dawn (Charles) Miller of Farmington and Kristine (Timothy) Ponton of Fairmont; three grandchildren: Kelsey, Amiah, and Jacob Miller; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by two sisters: Barbara Jo Dumire and Betty Jean Childers.

There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special recognition to those whom Rex depended upon for errands and care, especially his son-in-law: Charles Miller. Condolences may be accessed at www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com
