Monongah native Paula Knobel Park passes away

Paula Knobel Park, born in Monongah to Lorraine Gorey Knobel, passed away Friday, September 16.

Paula June Park, of Fairmont passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016. She was born in Fairmont, WV, daughter of Lorraine (Gorey) Knobel of Monongah.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Knobel.

Paula was Catholic by faith, and was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Paul Park of Fairmont; her daughter, Lisa Park Monday and husband Donovan of Morgantown; her sisters, Terri Miconi of Fairmont, Jacquie Price and husband Gary of Mannington; her brother, John Phillips of Fairmont; a grandchild, Hayden Monday of Morgantown; two nephews, Khristopher Price of Phoenix, AZ, John Phillips Paladino of San Diego, CA; two nieces, Tiffany Wells of Purcellville, VA, and Stacey Perrault of Forest Grove, OR.

Paula was a very compassionate person always taking care of those in need. She had a special place in her heart for stray animals, especially cats, which she often welcomed into her home.

She was employed as a customer service representative for First Energy in Fairmont. She enjoyed volunteering at her grandson Hayden’s school, The Morgantown Learning Academy, therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Paula’s name to: The Morgantown Learning Academy, 123 Discovery Place, Morgantown, WV 26508.

A private family service is being arranged by Domico Funeral Home, in Fairmont.
