Ribbon cut, Ashley open for business

Ashley Hunt cut the ribbon to open her Downtown Grill restaurant at 323 Adams Street in Fairmont.

In the Fairmont Times photo are her grandmother and cook, Barbara Hayes, server Greta Satterfield, Ashley Hunt and staff member Katrina Emerick.

Ashley’s mother is Paula “P.J.” Hickman, North Marion Class of 1983 who started at Monongah High before the consolidation into North Marion. Her stepfather is Odis Martin of Fairmont.

The Adams Street building still reverberates from the echoes of the Jenna Won’t Sing Band headed by Greg Patrick performing regularly until the Firehouse Café closed.

Ashley is a Marion County substitute teacher after graduating from North Marion High and Fairmont State. She frequently is involved in charity work or helping out those in need after a crisis.
