Monongah among safest dozen places in West Virginia

Monongah is among the 12 safest places to live in West Virginia, according to 2012 FBI crime statistics.

No murder or non-negligent homicides, forcible rapes, robberies or aggravated assaults were reported.

Other places on the list: Kingwood and Reedsville in Preston County, Lumberport and Stonewood in Harrison County, Capon Bridge in Hampshire County, New Cumberland in Hancock County, Matoaka in Mercer County, Clearview and Triadelphia in Ohio County, Ridgeley in Mineral County and Paden City, which is in both Tyler and Wetzel counties.
