Guess who came to dinner?
Stan
Cameon, 1981 North Marion grad who is from
Monongah but lives in Fairmont, joined a famous Mountaineer for dinner at the
home of his aunt and uncle, Virginia Cameon Mezzanotte and Pat Mezzanotte, in
Fairmont.
Joe Mazzulla, a one-man PressVirginia
before the Bob Huggins defensive term was invented at WVU, enjoyed the
Mezzanotte food along with Stan’s cousin, Adam Reeves, married to Joanna Cameon Reeves, Class of 1971.
Wrote Stan:
“A
big thank you to my Aunt, Virginia Cameon
Mezzanotte, and my Uncle Pat Mezzanotte for a very
delicious lunch. My cousin Adam Reeves and I were guests along with former mountaineer great
and current Fairmont State assistant men’s basketball coach Joe Mazzulla at
their home. Great time and food.”
Mama mia, I can believe that, growing up with a mother
born in Pellizzano in northern Italy (polenta country as compared to southern
Italy spaghetti country).
Monongah High history is littered with Cameons.
Virginia is a daughter of Clyde and Maggie Cameon of
Carolina. Her siblings are Bill Cameon, Class of 1960, of Highland, Indiana;
Nathaleen Cameon Oliverio, Class of 1948, of East Chicago, Illinois; Pete
Cameon, Class of 1958, of Clarksburg; Linda Cameon, Class of 1966, of Carolina;
and, all deceased, Arthur Cameon, Joe Cameon and Rudy Cameon.
Also on the extensive Cameon family tree somewhere are
Francis King Cameon, Class of 1942; Constance Koldres Cameon, Class of 1963;
Angela Cameon Viney, Class of 1968; Francine Cameon Jurasko, Class of 1978;
Cheri Slamen Cameon, North Marion 1980; and Albert Cameon of Mannington,
deceased.
