Beverly Ballard Pyles passes away

Beverly Ann Pyles of Monongah, mother of Dorene Wright of Monongah, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Her obituary:

Beverly Ann Pyles, 78, of Monongah, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Pierpont Healthcare in Fairmont. She was born on July 8, 1936 in Pine Bluff, the daughter of the late Orvel and Mabel (Bragg) Ballard.

She is survived by one daughter: Dorene Wright of Monongah and her former son-in-law, Leonard Wright; and one grandchild: Cheyenne Wright and her companion Hank Carver of Sabraton. She is also survived by her grandmother, Ruth Bragg of Ohio; one uncle: Melvin Bragg also of Ohio; five aunts: Mildred Clark of Florida, Sue Fresher of California, Minnie Swiger, Mary Grodesky, and Phyllis Laird of Ohio. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Lula Maxwell of Clarksburg and her roommate Evelyn Simmons of Pierpont Center, Fairmont.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence H. Pyles, and two brothers: James and Roger Ballard.

Beverly loved her church family at Bible Church of God in Clarksburg. She was well-known for her fantastic baked goods, and also loved embroidery and gardening. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the nurses and aides, especially Cheryl and Becky for all they did to make Beverly happy and comfortable. The family would also like to express their thanks to Ron and Marion Moore, who took care of her when she was home.

Friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be at the Dorsey Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM Friday, with Pastor James Nuzum and Calvin Robinson presiding. Interment will follow at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery. Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pyles family.
