Varooming into 42nd wedding anniversary

Marcia and Dave give their Harley a rest
Marcia Michalski Westfall, Class of 1974, of Kilarm, married to Dave Westfall, Class of 1948, celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary today in their usual roaring way.

They are in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida on their national tour on their Harley Electra-Glide Motorcycle.

Lousiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois also were included in this yippee ki yay anniversary to beat all anniversaries, which began June 24.

I’ve been to 44 states, but Marcia and Dave make me feel like a piker because it took me my entire life to do it. They crossed the country in 2012 and go up and down the Atlantic seaboard regularly, too. I doubt there's a state that they've missed on that motorcycle, except maybe Hawaii since Harley's don't float that well.

No wonder the Fairmont Times named the Westfalls the Family of the Year in 2015.

Marcia is a kindergarten teacher at Monongah Elementary School, while Dave works for the Division of Highways.

Marcia’s parents are Ramona Fullen Michalski, Class of 1949, who must be using a GPS and pins on the map to keep track of her daughter, and the late Frank Michalski, who was at Monongah High till after the 1949 football season.

Also on the pins – and needles, maybe – are her siblings. Mike Michalski (wife Jan) and Jay Michalski (wife Debbie), both of Monongah, Carol Michalski Drake (husband Bob) of Shinnston and Ramona Michalski, who lives with Ramona Fullen Michalski in Monongah. Her sister, Mary Frances Michalski Gapen, Class of 1968, married to Rick Gapen, passed away in 2012.
