Charlie Miller to rehab at Peterson in Wheeling

Charlie Miller, Kerry Marbury
Charlie Miller, Class of 1971, star defender and halfback on Monongah High’s 1968 and 1969 state title football team and 1968 state champ relay team in track, will moved to the Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital in the Woodsdale section of Wheeling on July 19.

Charlie suffered a stroke in April.

Charlie and Kerry Marbury were an awesome twosome for Monongah High in both football and track. Alabama football coach Nick “Brother” Saban was their quarterback on the 1968 gridiron team. Brother and Kerry were best man at each other’s weddings.

If you want to send Charlie a card, the address for Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital: Homestead Ave, Wheeling, WV 26003. His room number is 311.

In the 1800’s businessman and community leader B. Walker Peterson donated the land for the hospital, which is named after him. He also was president of Ohio Valley General Hospital.

Peterson was born in and spent his entire life in Wheeling. He is in the Wheeling Hall of Fame. On the day that the Bethany College graduate and Wheeling Dollar Bank president was buried, all activities in Wheeling, including trolley cars, stopped to honor him.
