Those Fazio children should do a lot of gallivanting around the country.

Mary Chris Fazio Ramsey, Class of 1969, married to Tom Ramsey, is lapping up the sea and sunshine in Outer Banks, North Carolina.

Before that, Irene Fazio Preolitti, Class of 1966, who lives in Traction Park just past the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Monongah with husband Mike Preolitti, Class of 1962, took in the sand and sea and wild ponies of Chincoteague and Assateaugue islands that form a National Seashore in Virginia.

Later, Mary Chris’ brother’s wife, Cora Fazio, a 1973 Farmington High married to Dave Fazio, Class of 1968, recent traipsed off to Seattle, Washington to visit relatives on her side of the family, including her grandfather.

I guess it’s the turn of brother Steve Fazio, Class of 1975, widow of Nancy, to leave those West Virginia hills for some fun in the sun.

They are the children of the late Renzy Fazio and Frances Olesky Fazio, both Class of 1937, who ran the grocery store at the bottom of Jackson Street in Monongah.

Frances was the younger sister of Helen Olesky Kerekes, who married Steve Kerekes, and John W. Olesky, Sr., who married Lena Futten Olesky and produced Jackie Olesky Straight, Class of 1955, who lives in Rivesville, and John Olesky Jr., Class of 1950, who lives in the Akron suburb of Tallmadge, Ohio.
Renzy Fazio had 12 siblings: John Fazio, the lanky pitcher for Monongah High School who passed away in 2006, survived by widow Dolores Stancheck; Jeanette Fazio DiBiase, who died in 2003; Albert Fazio of New York; Mary Virginia Fazio Pasquale and husband Joseph of Fairmont; the late Nick, James, Joseph and Michael; and the Fazio sisters Edith DeCarlo, Elizabeth Domico, Angline Prozzillo and Carmella DePond. Mary Virginia died in 2006.
