Bernie Fullen shot Class 4 rapids in Ohiopile, Pennsylvania in September while his wife, Donna McGinnis Suppa-Fullen, went shopping in Ohio’s Amish country.

Bernie plays golf at White Day between Morgantown and Fairmont while Donna rides along in the golf cart.

Different strokes for different folks. Whatever turns your crank as long as you’re enjoying life.

Ohiopile was Bernie’s second rafting experience. He also did the Niagara River but not, obviously, over the Falls because he’s still alive.

Bernie said “I didn’t get dumped” from the raft. He didn’t say how much it cost for Donna to “sail” through the Amish shopping. I’ve been there many times because it’s only an hour’s drive from our Tallmadge home and it is VERY tempting, particularly if you’re browsing through Lehman’s Amish Hardware Store, which is about six times larger than your average hardware business building.

His raft trip was about three weeks before his sister, Eva Geraldine Fullen Ross, Class of 1950 like me, passed away in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Geraldine and Bernie were in a family of 13 children.

Jack Lee Suppa, Bernie Fullen and Donna McGinnis went to Monongah High together, with the Class of 1963.

Jack and Bernie, who lived in Carolina, were best friends.

Jack and Donna married in 1965. Bernie and Chloe Anne of Webster Springs, who met in Canton, Ohio, were married in 1973.

Jack Lee passed away in 2011. Chloe Anne passed away in 2015.

In 2016 Donna moved from Worthington, 6 miles away, to Shinnston. Bernie moved from Massillon, Ohio, 190 miles away, to Shinnston.

On July 30, 2016, they were married.
Now they are sailing through life and shopping centers.
