JANE ANNE 'NENE' PRITCHARD MOORE PASSES AWAY

Jane Anne “Nene” Pritchard Moore, Class of 1975, passed away Sunday, July 11.

Her sister, Beth Pritchard Brooks, Class of 1978, posted:

Yesterday morning my warrior sister went home to be with her Lord. This last battle with pneumonia was too much for her beautiful, caring and loving heart to take. I've never met anyone as strong as she was. I never got to see her and that is so hard to deal with. I am still trying to process this. Please keep us in your prayers and especially Henry, Allison and Rachel.

Henry Moore, who attended Monongah High for a year but graduated from Fairmont West, and Nene were married for

Allison, once named Outstanding Senior Chemistry Student at Fairmont State, and Rachel are their daughters.

Nene beat down cancer 3 times in her life. As Beth said, what a “warrior”!

Nene helped others who were ill for years, too, as a licensed practical nurse.

Her sisters are Jonna Pritchard Barnett, who was in the first graduation class at North Marion in 1980 after going to Monongah High for three years, married to Shinnston High grad Brad Barnett for more than three decades; and Beth Pritchard Brooks, who lives on Harter Hill in Worthington when she doesn’t join husband Rick Brooks in his conveyor system projects around the country. Beth and rambling Rick will be married 39 years on August 8.

Their parents are John Pritchard and Mary Jane McDaniel Pritchard, daughter of the famous Ted McDaniel, Monongah Streetcar Stationmaster, and Adrian Curry McDaniel. The other grandparents were Harold and Bessie Pritchard.

Stationmaster McDaniel’s son, Jim McDaniel, Class of 1960, lives in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Another son, Donald McDaniel, Class of 1946, passed away in 1963.

There also was a daughter, JoAnn McDaniel Huff, Class of 1949, who passed away in 2019. JoAnn's son, Robb Huff, Class of 1970, lives in Colorado. JoAnn also has two daughters, Valerie Huff Williams of Belington and Melissa Huff Salvatore of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Valerie Huff Williams, who both graduated from Elkins High School.

Jim McDaniel married Shirley Eakle. They had two sons, James and Donald. Shirley passed away.

Jim and his second wife, Mary Bolin McDaniel,  have a combined 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  They have been married since 1979.
