Ready, set, go!
Everything is a go for the Saturday,
July 17 J&J&Lions Get-Together in the Monongah Town Hall.
I talked to new Say-Boy owner Keith
Straka today and there will be vegan vegetable lasagna, cabbage rolls, stuffed
peppers and rigatoni and meatballs available for those who requested each as
their entrée. Spaghetti was too problematic to keep safe and un-clumpy, Keith
said.
He ran the total charge through my
credit card so we’ll all set.
There also will be drinks (coffee,
ice tea, lemonade, NO alcohol), salad and cake and maybe pastries available.
Monongah Town Councilwoman Susan
Staron Sanders and Shelly Yankie are in charge of decorations and the raffle
tickets for the items that Alabama football coach Nick Saban, Class of 1969,
donated. Only those who attend the event will be able to purchase raffle
tickets for the Saban giveaway items.
Mayor Johnboy Palmer will draw the
first raffle ticket winner, for the football autographed by Nick Saban and his
wife, Terry Constable Saban. The person who wins the autographed football will
draw the next ticket and that person will have a choice of what’s left on the
Saban giveaway table. Each ticket winner will draw the next ticket to see who
gets their pick of what’s left till all the items are gone.
There will be an 28 x 36 inch framed
photo of the Monongah Lion, an 8 x 10 foot WVU cloth wall hanging, non-stop
music from a speaker for listening and dancing.
EVERYONE in the Town Hall, guests and
Say-Boy personnel, have had their Covid vaccine shots so we’re safe in that
area, too.
All that’s left is to show up and have
fun.
Are you ready?
