Aaron Justice, Sr. passes away

Aaron Justice, Sr., father of Aaron Justice, Jr., Class of 1972, passed away Wednesday, July 18.

Aaron, Sr. was the widow of Annie Lee.

Aaron, Jr. lives on Walnut street.


Aaron, Sr.'s daughter, Alceste Sissy Justice Powell, Class of 1974, is a Fairmont State grad who lives in Augusta, Georgia with husband Glenn Powell, formerly from Fairmont. Sissy was a substitute high school teacher at LaPorte Independent School District in Texas for 12 years.
 
Aaron Jr.'s sister, Alissa Justice, lives in Monongah.

Another sister, Antheai Justice Turner, 1982 North Marion grad who began at Monongah High before it ceased to exist in 1979, lives in Eden, North Carolina. She is a team leader at Kayser-Roth, which is owned by The Golden Lady Group, which operates more than 500 Golenpoint specialty stores throughout Europe. Golden Lady designs and produces sleepwear, women’s hosiery and underwear.

Andrea Justice Domico, Aaron, Jr.’s daughter living in Monongah with husband Dave Domico, a Fairmont West grad, is a Certified Nurses Aide at St. Barbara's Nursing Home in Monongah.

Aaron, Sr.'s obituary:

Evangelist Aaron B. “Booker” Justice Sr, 90, of Monongah, passed away on July 18, 2018 at the St. Barbara’s Nursing home in Monongah.

He was born on June 7, 1928 in Harrison County, a son of the late B.T. Washington Justice, and Dora Alceste Deahl Justice


Booker is survived by his children, Aaron Justice Jr and his wife Ann Marie Justice of Monongah, Alceste “Sissy” Powell and her husband Glenn of Georgia , Antheia G. Justice and companion Horace Medley of Eden North Carolina, his grandchildren, Andrea Domico, Aaron Joshua Justice, Aleesha Marie Yanero, Alissa Justice, Mar-Teena Powell Harris, Tabitah Powell Gomersall, Frank W.Mike, Matthew Justin Mike, 7 Great Grandchildren Averyonna Domico, Aria Maree Yanero, Ledgen Justice, Gavin NyKamp, Elisha William Mike, Maddox Justin Mike, Madilynn Ann Mike, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Booker was preceeded in death by his wife Annie Lee Justice, and his brothers Robert Justice, and Gayle Justice.
Aaron was a WWII veteran stationed in Italy with the United States Army.


Aaron was an Evangelist at Spruce Street Church of Christ in Fairmont, and was also a traveling preacher to other congregations. Aaron also had a Sunday morning radio worship broadcast named “The Churches of Christ salute you”. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Booker was a firm believer in education.


He attended electrician school in Fairmont, and also attended Salem University.

He was a coal miner, having worked 27 years at the Rachel mine; he was known as “Preacher” and then worked 23 years as a Federal Mine Inspector for the Government.


Booker was also a coach in his earlier days, because he believed in the youth of Monongah playing sports.


Aaron was a self-taught Guitarist.


Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston on Sunday from 1-6 PM. Booker will lie in state at the Oakhurst Church of Christ in Farmington, from 10-11 am on Monday July 19, 2018 with the funeral at 11 with Evangelist Craig Matheny officiating. Entombment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
