Fire hits Kucko funeral home

This isn’t a good time for Marion County funeral homes.

The Fairmont building at 320 Madison Street Road, which houses Frey Home for Funerals, is for sale. Frey hasn’t had a funeral since early September.

Now the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz funeral home at 1990 South Main Street was hit by fire Wednesday morning. Akron Fire reported heavy smoke and flames from an attic on arrival at 9:07 a.m. An "interior attack" brought the fire under control.  No injuries have been reported and arson investigators were called to the scene.

There was no damage estimate and no injuries.
