away Wednesday, September 29 from COVID-19.

Vienna, West Virginia. Pete will be laid to rest Saturday, October 23 at Mount

Pete’s brother, John Louis DePond,
passed away in 2015. Siblings Frank DePond and Christine DePond Harr also
passed away. All – along with Margaret DePond Meffe, who survives, were
dentists and children of Pete DePond, Sr. and Mary Carmella Fazio DePond.
Carmella was one of Uncle Renzy Fazio’s sisters. Renzy married Frances Olesky
Fazio, sister of my father, John W. Olesky, Sr.
Pete lives in Vienna but was a
dentist in nearby Parksburg for 36 years and was a whiz-bang golfer with two
holes-in-one. I’m almost 89 and I haven’t gotten one yet. Bob Fox, Class of 1948,
who passed away in 2014, lived in Parkersburg but Bob’s son Bob Fox, Jr. lived
in Vienna.
Louis was a tackle on the Monongah
High football team. Both Louie and Pete were dentists.
