Louie’s daughter Lisa Marie Miconi-Barnard passes away

North Marion graduate Lisa Marie Miconi-Barnard, daughter of Louis Miconi, Class of 1947, and the late Mary Catherine Duncil Miconi, passed away Wednesday, May 16.

Lisa graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Monongah. She worked at several banks in the Parkersburg area and lived in Pennsboro.

Lisa’s sister, Beatrice Miconi Henderson, lives in Carolina. Deceased siblings are Nancy Miconi Fazio and Gabriel Miconi.

Mary Catherine passed away in 2012 after 63 years of marriage to Louie. Gabriel passed away in 1976 at the age of 79.

Lisa Marie Miconi-Barnard, 50, of Pennsboro, formerly of Carolina, passed away Wednesday (May 16, 2018). She was born in Fairmont on May 10, 1968, daughter of Louie R. Miconi of Carolina and the late Mary Catherine Duncil Miconi.

Lisa worked at Antero Resources. She formerly worked at various banks including Huntington Bank, WesBanco and Centra Bank and also Lumos Network. 

She attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Monongah and graduated from North Marion High School, and Fairmont State College with a degree in criminal justice. 

She was a member of the American Heart Association and Pennsboro Women's Club.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Christian A. Collins of Stonewood; and one sister, Beatrice Henderson of Carolina. Lisa is also survived by her aunts, Eva J. Miconi of Carolina and Helen Buonamici of Worthington; and uncle, Americo Miconi of Alexandria, Virginia; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her one sister, Nancy Fazio; one brother, Gabriel R. Miconi; and her grandparents, Gabriel and Beatrice Lappa Miconi.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah with Fr. Vincent Joseph as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery in Shinnston.
