Another $1,100 was raised by the Monongah Christmas Street Lights Committee at its May 5 event.

There were 21 lights last Christmas. The goal is to add another 5 for this Christmas.

$1,100 is almost enough for two lights, I estimate.

But there will be more fundraisers before December.

Dora Beaven won the 50/50 drawing.

Lights Committee alternate Breanna Stewart won the Mothers Day basket.

Other baskets or prizes were won by Debby Wilt, 1980 North Marion grad Paulah Matthews Sloan, Beth Lewis, Dixie Slimmer Rogers, Class of 1958; Linda Fluharty Williams, Fairmont West graduate Linda McCullough, married to Bill McCullough; Annette White, Lights Committee alternate Amanda Morgan, a 1998 North Marion graduate; Grafton High graduate Debby Mason Michalski, Linda Knobel-Carr, Class of 1967; Cierra Parker, Monongah Alumni Association president Linda Lopez Gandy, Class of 1965; Monongah Alumni Association treasurer Donna Colvert Davis, Class of 1961; Robin Flinn; Judy Haught; and Betty Walls Vandetta.
