June Shepherd Slovekosky

June is survived by her sister, Lucille Herron Anderson, Class of 1950, who lives in Annapolis, Maryland with husband Sam Anderson. She was predeceased by siblings Louise Miller, Mildred McNece and James Lemoin Herron, Class of 1946.

Lucille was a schoolteacher in Anne Arundel County, Maryland for 26 years.

June and Walter also adopted Kenneth Slovekosky, who went to Monongah Junior High before graduating from Gilmer County High in 1976.

Ken wrote that there also was a daughter, Beverly Slovekosky, and a son, James W. Slovekosky. I don’t know if that’s the same person as James Lemoin Herron or another adopted son or what.

June was an aunt of the late Wilma McNece Dwyer, Class of 1955, and Betty McNece Poster of Scott Depot, West Virginia.

Walter’s brother, Stanley Slovekosky Sr., who worked for Joe Hanus at Joe's service station next to the PNA Tavern, is the father of Pat Slovekosky Morris, Class of 1970, who lives in Sarasota, Florida, with husband Train Morris.

There’s a Belinda Morgan Sheppard, Class of 1969.
