Danny Fullen passes away

Danny Fullen, Class of 1961, passed away Tuesday, November 22. He would have been 73 on November 28.

Danny lived on Parrish Run Road in Farmington with his wife of almost 55 years, Ina Kincaid Fullen, Class of 1962.

The children of George E. Fullen, Sr. and Betty M. Tomlinson Fullen are Danny; the late Janice Fullen Mayfield Spinner, Class of 1964; George Fullen, Jr., Class of 1965; Connie Fullen Cantrell, Class of 1966, who lives in Jasper, Alabama; Charlotte Fullen Lloyd, Class of 1968, who lives in Bear, Delaware; and the late Jim Fullen, Class of 1969.

Ramona Fullen Michalski, Class of 1949, who lives in Monongah and is the widow of Frank Michalski, is their first cousin.

Social worker Ina Kincaid Fullen and Pam Kincaid West are sisters.

From 1945 through 1968, 1955 was the only year without a Fullen at Monongah High.

Danny's obituary:

Daniel Lee Fullen, Sr. 72, of Farmington passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 28, 1943 in Fairmont, WV, son of the late George E. Sr. and Betty M. (Tomlinson) Fullen.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ina Fullen; four children, Robin Anderson and husband Mark of Mt. Morris, PA, Jane Harman and husband John of Parrish Run, Daniel Fullen, Jr. and wife Lori of Hurricane, WV, Mark Fullen and wife Jennifer of Fairmont, WV; two sisters, Connie Cantrell of Jasper AL, Charlotte Lloyd of Bear, DE; eleven grandchildren, Jerry Anderson and wife Ali, Emily Rohrbacher and husband Brandon, Sara and Katie Harman, Jacob, Addison, Bailey, Chloe, Henry, Will, and Ruby Fullen. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George Fullen, Jr., James Fullen, Marshall Fullen; and one sister, Janice Mayfield.

Daniel grew up in Monongah and loved his hometown. He was an active member of Trinity Assembly of God.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Canberra during the Cuban Missile Crisis. 

Daniel was a coal miner at Consol Mine #20 in Four States for 18 years, and retired after 24 years of employment as a Chain Specialist for Joy Mining Machine Co. He worked with Monongah PACE, which developed the Monongah Mine Disaster Memorial. He was also involved in the Consol Mine #20 reunion planning group.

At the time of his death, he was employed as a consultant for Fairwinds Manufacturing in Franklin, PA; and Extreme Machine and Fabrication of Hermitage.
Daniel was a self-made man, a seeker of knowledge and a teacher of life lessons. He loved travel, history, and was a self-taught handyman. Known as Paw to his grandchildren, he was loved and admired. He had a generous heart, a warm smile and was giving of his time, skills, and strength to make sure no family, friend or stranger ever went without what they needed.  
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday Nov. 26, in the funeral home with Rev. Ray Crabtree officiating. Interment will be at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, Monday November 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com .
