Good first year for reborn Fairmont hospital

A year ago Alecto Healthcare bought Fairmont General Hospital and changed its name to Fairmont Regional Medical Center.

Before Alecto Healthcare came to the rescue, the hospital was in bankruptcy because of ever-increasing competition from Morgantown and Clarksburg medical facilities.

After Alecto came aboard, the hospital purchased new cardiac monitors and plans to finish installing new elevators, MRI machines and beds for the emergency room by early 2016.

Patient numbers are up and FRMC plans to expand its staff.
